Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have dominated the Ballon d’Or over the last decade. Ronaldo has won football’s most prestigious individual honour four times, whilst Messi has emerged victorious five times. Over this time, great players such as Luis Suarez, Andres Iniesta and Xavi have been starved of the chance to win the award by the duos relentless brilliance.
