Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hailed departing Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta’s contribution to football, saying the diminutive midfielder helped him understand the game better during his time as manager of the Catalan club. “He’s another part of the history of Barcelona in the past 15 or 20 years that would not have been possible without him. I just can say thank you because he helped me, people believe managers help the players but in few cases, and I think Andres is one of them, he helped me understand the game better, just watching him and what he does on the football pitch,” Guardiola said.
