Donavan Brazier is quite possibly the next great 800 meter runner. At just 22 years of age, Brazier just won the World Championships in the 800 with a new American Record time of 1:42.34 and he did it quite easily. With 250 meters to run, Brazier took off and there was no looking back.

This time broke the great Johnny Gray’s previous mark of 1:42.60 dating all the way back from 1985. Brazier’s performance at the 2019 World Championships was certainly impressive, and only time will tell just how fast he’ll run in the future.
