Sarasota County’s Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Athletics Department employs over 50 staff members to oversee the 113 athletic fields used by over 100 user-groups.

In 2015, Sarasota County hosted 79 various sporting events, bringing a direct economic impact of over $33 million into the community.
