A post appeared on Pogba’s Instagram and Twitter accounts less than 20 minutes after the club confirmed the news in a statement.

A picture of the Frenchman from Monday night’s Adidas launch event appeared with the words “Caption this” before deleting the post.

Fans were quick to slam the midfielder for his social media activity.

And United legend Neville also piled into the under-fire 25-year-old.

He tweeted: “Caption This” You do one as well!”

However, it appears Pogba’s posts were scheduled as part of Adidas’s marketing campaign.
