An end to the craziest month in the recent history of Real Madrid will come on Sunday night when they face Huesca at home.
It is a month in which Los Blancos lost absolutely everything and when they began to believe again after Zinedine Zidane‘s return to the dugout.

One cycle died and a new project was born in March 2019, one that fans of Madrid will never forget.
It was on 2 March that they delivered the title to Barcelona when Ivan Rakitic got the winner just three days after their Copa del Rey defeat to all but secure the championship for the visitors.

March also ended Real Madrid‘s run as European champions when they were ruthlessly eliminated at home by Ajax, who dethroned the holders after a reign of over 1,000 days.
Those results caused Florentino Perez to take action and bring Zidane back to the club and although he couldn’t deliver trophies, there is renewed hope with him on the bench once more.
That allows everyone to look to the future with optimism, dreaming of what Zizou can do next year and of new signings as well as the resurrection of players who fell out of favour in the previous regime.

The month ends against Huesca on Sunday in a game in which all that is at stake is the chance for players to fight for their future and stake a claim.
Isco, Marcelo and Gareth Bale will be thrust into the spotlight once more and all three are set to start and have a point to prove for various reasons.
The Spaniard was frozen out under Solari but netted against Celta last time out, although he is aware that the coach and fans expect more of him.
He will be put under the magnifying glass again after two weeks working hard at Valdebebas, away from the scrutiny of the national team.
The Bernabeu has also shown less patience towards Marcelo and Bale this season, with the former’s future still an unknown, while the Welshman seems to be moving further away from Madrid, although he has insisted on staying and trying to convince Zidane.
For the game against Huesca, Zidane will impose the philosophy he did in his first game and with nothing at stake, will give rest to the internationals who came back after the break at less than peak fitness.
Toni Kroos, Raphel Varane, Luka Modric and Marco Asensio are all out of the squad, meaning the second string side will be in action.
It could be a chance for Marcos Llorente, Dani Ceballos, Mariano, Brahim Diaz, Jesus Vallejo and Sergio Reguilon to prove to Zidane that they can play a part for him next season.
Meanwhile, Huesca will arrive at the Bernabeu backed by 2,000 fans and looking for a miracle in their fight against the drop.
