Mourinho signed a new contract at Manchester United in January until 2020 with an option of a further year. However, the Portuguese is now under huge pressure following Monday night’s 3-0 home loss to Tottenham. United have just three points from their opening three games of the season and Mourinho is the favourite with the bookies to be the next manager to lose his job in the Premier League. But Neville believes getting rid of the 55-year-old would not be a wise move and would just cause more uncertainty.  “I don’t think you can ever be convinced in football nowadays to be honest with the madness of football,” Gary Neville said on Mourinho’s future. “We’ve seen Louis van Gaal sacked at Manchester United after an FA Cup final victory, we’ve seen David Moyes sacked with four days to go. “The reality is we are no longer talking about a football club that is behaving as it historically has normally done. “However, it is different times, I accept the difficulties and challenges. “My honest view as I stand here now, and I’ve repeated this message for every single manager I’ve been asked about in five, six years of doing this programme (Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football), Ed Woodward gave him a contract during last season, only seven or eight months ago. “He should see that contract through to the end and do the job. “You cannot keep jumping around with managers, you can’t keep doing it. You’ve just got to go with it. “My personal view is, yeah I hear all the third-year Mourinho stories and all the rest of it and ‘it’s coming to an end’, and you can’t disagree with those stories because there is some history. “But what I would say is that it is time now for Manchester United to batten down the hatches, for Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward to sort themselves out in terms of is there is a problem there, and to get the team right for the rest of the season. “The club is bigger than anybody, it’s bigger than any individual. “They have to get themselves sorted, it’s not a time for in-fighting and politics.” United will look to bounce back when they visit Burnley on Sunday. Sean Dyche’s side have collected just one point from their opening three games and currently sit in the relegation zone.
