As per a report from France Football (via GFFN), Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reignited his interest in the signature of Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

Mane’s Liverpool stint

26-year-old winger Mane has been on the books of Liverpool since 2016.

The Senegalese international made the move to Anfield from fellow Premier League outfit Southampton for £34 million.

And Mane has since gone on to establish himself as one of the first names on the team-sheet of manager Jurgen Klopp.

The pacy African forms one third of Liverpool’s fearsome attacking trident alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, and played an absolutely integral role in the club’s run to the Champions League final last season, notching 10 goals in 11 appearances.

Amid Mohamed Salah’s struggles of late, Mane has taken Liverpool’s goalscoring burden on his back, with the gifted wide-man’s 11 goals in his last 11 games (7 in his last 5) having catapulted the Reds into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and back above Manchester City atop the Premier League table.

Real bound?

And, as per the aforementioned report from France Football this evening, Mane’s standout performances have seen the 26-year-old added to the summer wishlist of one of European football’s heavyweights.

The club said to be expressing an interest in the Liverpool star are Real Madrid.

Los Blancos’ boss Zinedine Zidane is known to be a huge fan of Mane’s talents, with Spanish reports having claimed last summer that a deal was in place with the African’s representatives over a Bernabeu switch, before Zidane’s abrupt departure.

But, with the French tactician now back on the bench in the Spanish capital, Real are ready to reignite their chase of Mane come the end of the season:
