Not the most popular of opinions. I obviously don’t care about the history or legacy or whatever you want to call it of any jersey. I base my choices on how much I like how they look. Chicago Blackhawks have alright jerseys, but they don’t crack the top 10 for me. On the other hand, I have nothing against the Mighty Ducks giant duck goalie jumping through the ice. I think it’s actually quite fun and super 90s… and I like it. It’s actually interesting to look at. It’s like someone’s wearing an ugly Christmas sweater. I like it.

Ottawa Senators 2008-09 Alternate (SENS) [Side note: I can’t stand any of the shortened nicknames on the front of jerseys like this. I didn’t even really like the Caps one this year. But this Sens one is the worst. It should have never existed.]

Pittsburgh Penguins 2007-08 Away [I think this is horrible. I’m not sure why, when they went back to their 90s Stanley Cup winning logo in the early 2000s, they chose these colours, looking their worst on this jersey. But I can’t really stand it. I’m so glad they recently went back to the yellow and black they had back when they won twice in the early 90s. Those are actually quite sharp.]

Vancouver Canucks 1978-79 Away (Flying V) [I’m a Canucks fan, and I actually like most of the Canucks’ jerseys. I don’t understand the hate for the gradient. I love that one. But the flying V is truly an awful thing. It’s quite nice in a historical sense, as the Canucks have a finals run in these, but in a visual sense these are pretty bad.]
