Aside from quarterback, many believe that linebacker is the most important position in all of football. They run the defense and do all the things you need from a defensive player. A linebacker is simply the straw that stirs the drink.

But there are only so many elite linebackers in the NFL these days. We’ve seen so many guys dominate at the college level, to the point where they looked like sure things. But when all was said and done, their NFL careers were nothing like what we saw in college. They simply failed to reach that next level.

Let’s take a look at 12 linebackers who were great in college, but total BUSTS in the NFL.
