The value of NFL running backs has changed aplenty throughout history. For the first 30 to 40 years of the Super Bowl era, practically every team needed a top-tier running back if they wanted to contend for championships.

But in the 2010s, we’ve seen lots of teams win without a Pro Bowl-caliber running back. Many of them don’t last long in the NFL; a large portion of them are practically done once they reach their early 30s.

And of course, some teams have just been scared to draft top running back prospects. Why? Because so many times, we’ve seen some hot shot college prospects completely flop once they turned professional. These 10 guys on our list looked like sure things in college, only to end up being the complete opposite of what we all expected once they reached the pros.

Today we present 10 running backs who were great in college…but total BUSTS in the NFL.
